  1. Applicable Large Employer Status. This tool was designed to assist smaller municipalities to determine whether or not they may be deemed an “Applicable Large Employer” under the Affordable Care Act and possibly subject to the Employer Shared Responsibility mandate provisions.
  2. Cadillac Tax Calculator. This tool was developed to assist municipalities with projecting if their current medical plans might be subject to the 40% “Cadillac” excise tax under the Affordable Care Act.

INFORMATION NEEDED TO GET STARTED:

  • Monthly premiums for your current health care coverage for single or family coverage only.
  • Total number of employees enrolled in each coverage tier.
  • Total number of retirees enrolled in each plan (separate from active employee enrollment).

Monthly contributions made by the employer and employees to a Health Savings Account (HSA), Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), or Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA). If annual contributions are made, divide by 12 to convert to a monthly contribution.
